Kaitlyn Meriam
BFA Theatre Production and Design
Stage Management Concentration
Class of 2020

Hi! Welcome to Kaitlyn's little corner of this site. Kaitlyn is a Stage Manager and theatre artist who cannot believe she gets to do this all day everyday (well, or she DID before COVID-19 hit the theatre industry and her senior year like a ton of bricks). Originally from Farmingdale, NY on Long Island, Kaitlyn first spent a year at Ithaca College in upstate NY as a BA Theatre Studies student before transferring to LIU Post in the Fall of 2017. During her three years at LIU, Kaitlyn has grown tremendously into the Stage Manager, Artist, and Person she is very proud to be today.
Kaitlyn is an extremely motivated and dedicated stage manager who while a member of Post Theatre Company, could nearly always be found spread out somewhere in the Little Theatre or TF working on her show. It's 11am and there's an average night of rehearsal tonight? She'll probably be in the drafting room from now till then updating paperwork and responding to emails. Its 2am and rehearsal ended 4 hours ago? She's almost definitely still in 102 making a schedule for tomorrow. "Kaitlyn, your show closed yesterday, how can you still be working?" "My next show starts rehearsals in a week!!" Is it necessary to work this much all the time? Probably not but between commuter downtime, perfectionist tendencies, and an incredibly deep love for what she does, she wouldn't want it any other way.
Kaitlyn works best in collaborative environments where everyone involved is eager to get to work each day and create together. She is often known as "The Mom" of her casts and loves nothing more than the pride she feels while watching them up onstage on opening night. She's also a big problem-solver and loves figuring out how the puzzle pieces of each production can go together to create our art as efficiently and effectively as possible.
P.S. - Her favorite font is Garamond and she LOVES a good spreadsheet.
